On behalf of the Men’s Golf Association (MGA) and The Vinoy Club, we welcome you to the 2025 MGA Member-Member Tournament and Gala. As one of our signature annual events, we look forward to a full field of players enjoying two days of competition followed by our Annual Vinoy MGA Gala, where we’ll celebrate the victors in style on Saturday evening.
Schedule of Events
Friday, December 5th
• 11:00 AM – Lunch available (optional)
• 12:00 PM – Shotgun Start
• 5:00 PM – Scoring at the Pavilion
• Dinner on your own
Saturday, December 6th
• 7:00 AM – Driving Range Opens, Breakfast at the Vinoy Club Grill
• 8:30 AM – Shotgun Start
• 1:00 PM – Scoring & Lunch at the Pavilion
• 6:00 PM–10:00 PM – Vinoy MGA Centennial Gala @ Palm Court Ballroom. Spouses welcome. Cocktail attire (jackets for men).
Entry Fee: $400 per player
Saturday Gala
The Annual Vinoy MGA Gala begins at 7:00 PM on Saturday evening. Attendees are requested to dress in cocktail attire, with jackets for men. MGA members who are not participating in the Member-Member are welcome to attend the Gala (Gala-only Cost: $100 per person). Please RSVP through the registration portal.
Tournament Format
Round 1 (Friday): One Best Ball of Two – 100% of handicaps, maximum handicap of 26
Round 2 (Saturday): 2-Person Scramble – 35% of low handicap + 15% of high handicap
Handicaps: Based on 90-day low
Flights & Winners:
Top 3 teams (net score) in each flight
Overall Net Champion
Overall Gross Champion (eligible only if both players play from Black Tees)
Tee Assignments
Black: Under age 50, under 5.0 index
Gold: Under age 50, 5.0 index or higher
Blue: Ages 50–69
White: Ages 70–79
Red: Ages 80+
Players may play from farther back tees if they wish, but may not move forward from their eligible tee.
Flights & Seeding
Flights are determined using each team’s combined handicap index. That index will be converted into a locked playing handicap on December 1st. Partners may have a maximum differential of 10 strokes.
No-Show Policy
Registration is considered complete within 1 week of the event start date.
Any team that cancels within that week will forfeit their entry fee.
If a player cannot compete:
Both players withdraw: Team is disqualified.
One player withdraws: Partner may continue, using only his score on each hole.
In the scramble format, a solo player may hit only one shot per stroke.
Tiebreakers
Overall Gross or Net Champions: Playoff begins on hole #18.
All other ties: Determined by scorecard playoff beginning with the hardest handicap hole from Saturday’s round, then Friday’s if still tied.
